Large Language Model (LLM)
Also called: LLM, large language model
A large language model (LLM) is the AI system behind tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. It is trained on vast amounts of text to understand and generate language, and it powers the answer engines that increasingly recommend businesses directly instead of returning a list of links.
LLMs do not browse the way a person does. Many AI crawlers that feed them do not execute JavaScript, so content rendered only in the browser is invisible to them. Server-side rendering and structured data are what make a firm's information legible to these models.
